Script - How to show your video doorbell on your TV

Picture this: you’re watching TV and the doorbell rings. So you pull up your doorbell camera on your TV to instantly see who’s at the door. And it’s your groceries, delivered right on time.

Did you know you can link your ring doorbell to your smart TV? And it’s really easy. I'll show you how.

You can connect your Ring doorbell to your TV if you have an Amazon Fire TV device or a Samsung TV with Smart Things built in.

To connect through Amazon fire TV: first open the Alexa app on your phone, go to the skills menu and install the Ring skill for Alexa. Then add your Ring devices to Alexa. This will enable a bunch of new Alexa skills, no additional set up required. Try commands like: “Alexa show the front door” or, “Alexa play the last event at the front door”.

If you have a Samsung TV with Smart Things built-in, open the Smart Things app on your phone and choose “Add Device”. Choose your Ring doorbell from the list, and enter your Ring account details. From here you can set which alerts you want to see on your TV. To finish setting up, go to the Smart Things app on your TV, and enable the Ring doorbell alerts if you want to see notifications for when motion is detected at your Ring camera, or when the doorbell button is pressed.

Now when you have a visitor, just ask Alexa to give you a live look at your doorbell camera right on your TV, so you never miss greeting a guest or getting an important delivery.
